What’s in a CSA share?

0

Local Foods Connection’s client families receive CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares from 8 different farms located around Iowa City, Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.  They receive a box of produce every week for about 20 weeks. We are a little over half-way through the season.

Here is a list of the contents of this week’s CSA share from Scattergood Friends School Farm located in West Branch.

  • 18 ears of sweet corn
  • 1 lb 2 oz cherry tomatoes
  • 1 lb 3 oz misc tomatoes
  • 7 1/4 oz swiss chard
