Turkey from Scattergood FarmVolunteer at our Turkey Distribution

In addition to 4 – 5 months of fresh produce, all Local Foods Connection clients in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids are offered a free, organic turkey for Thanksgiving. As an alternative to turkey, we offer our clients free, organic sheep meat in December. We purchase the turkey from Henry J.C. and & Ila Miller of Kalona and the sheep from ZJ Farm in Solon.

We need help during the turkey distribution! We partner with Farmer Susan of Local Harvest CSA in helping the Millers distribute turkeys to our clients as well as over 100 customers in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. The distribution will happen on Tuesday, November 24.
