2003: Year Five

• Adopt-A-Family (former name of Local Foods Connection) received 501(c)(3) status from Federal IRS.
  
  
• Board of Directors formed.
  
  
• New CSA farm, Gooseberry Hill Farm, joins Local Foods Connection program.
  
  
• Enrolled Five Families in Program
  
  
  1. Renewal of the one 2002 family - Family of six: mother with five children - full vegetable share and two organic chickens donated.
     
     
  2. Family of four: mother with three children - half vegetable share and two organic chickens donated.
     
     
  3. Family of seven: two adults, five children, and one unborn baby - full vegetable share and two organic chickens donated.
     
     
  4. Family of three, mother and two children - half vegetable share and two organic chickens donated.
     
     
  5. Family of five, elderly couple and three adult children - half vegetable share and two organic chickens to be donated.

Farms:vegetable shares from Local Harvest CSA and Gooseberry Hill Farm; chickens from farmer Joanne Nelson of As The Crow Flies.
