2004: Year Six
- Organizational name change to Local Foods Connection.
- Hired Iowa State University Life in Iowa program intern for 10
weeks over summer.
- won $2,500 grant from ISU Life in Iowa program to cover intern
costs
- won $2,000 grant from Leopold Center to cover intern costs
- Volunteers recruited from UI Community Service Fair and 10,000
Hours Show learn about farming and earn Local Foods Connection $500
credit toward purchase of vegetable shares.
- New CSA farm, Choice Earth CSA, joins Local Foods Connection program.
- Local Foods Connection expands to Fairfield, Iowa.
- Two raffles held.
- Raffle for 20 weeks of Simone's Plain & Simple Bread
& Egg share.
- Raffle for 20 weeks of Choice Earth CSA vegetable share.
- Each enrolled family received copy of the cookbook: Asparagus
to Zucchini: A Guide to Farm Fresh, Seasonal Produce.
